{"id":365,"count":76,"description":"Phosphate glasses are glass materials based on phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) with some added chemical components. They are used as laser gain media \u2013 both in bulk lasers and in the form of optical fibers. One of their primary advantages is their very high solubility for rare earth ions (\u2192 rare-earth-doped laser gain media) such as erbium (Er3+), ytterbium (Yb3+) and neodymium (Nd3+). This means that high concentrations of laser-active rare earth ions can be incorporated into phosphate glasses without detrimental effects such as clustering, which could degrade the performance via quenching effects.\r\n\r\nPhosphate glasses have a very low glass transition temperature, typically below 400 \u00b0C. Therefore, phosphate fiber ends melt relatively easily when being heated in high-power operation. Special care is therefore required for pump injection when realizing high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers with phosphate glasses.\r\nPhosphate glasses exhibit a much lower optical damage threshold and a lower thermal conductivity than silica glasses.","link":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/category\/doped-optical-crystals-glass\/phosphate-glass-doped-optical-crystals-glass\/","name":"Phosphatglas","slug":"phosphatglas-dotierte-optische-kristalle-glas","taxonomy":"product_cat","parent":23,"meta":[],"menu_order":0,"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat\/365","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/product_cat"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product_cat\/23"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/smart-elements.com\/de\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/product?product_cat=365"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
